Delaware County Council Community Alert System
When situations arise in Delaware County that may affect you and your family, Delco Alert lets local officials notify you quickly. Delco Alert can send an e-mail or text message to your cell phone or other wireless device. Alerts are free; however, your cellular provider may charge for text messaging.
Signing up to receive text messages is easy. For more information and to register, just log onto the Delaware County web site at
www.co.delaware.pa.us. Click on the Delco Alert icon, the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark.
Residents are advised that this system does not replace the Community Alert Network System Test (CAN) administered for the George W. Hill Correctional Facility.
Important: Community Alert Network (CAN)
The Community Notification Enrollment link replaces the American Emergency Netowrk/CAN post cards previously used. Not only does this ensure a more accurate data base, but allows residents to input an unlisted number, their cell phone number, or any other secondary phone numbers.
If you live within a two (2) mile radius of the George W. Hill Corectional Facility and would like to be notifed in the event of an escape, go to the Community Notification Enrollment (CNE) link.
